Santa Barbara Wine Country Road Trip – Sanford Winery

Our last stop on our Santa Barbara Wine Country Road Trip is always at Sanford Winery. Sanford wines have been a favorite of ours for many years. Their wines are consistently great and our winery visits are always memorable.
Sanford Winery is located in the Santa Rita Hills. This winery is away from the popular Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, located in Lompoc. It’s a much quieter spot.
Sanford Winery didn’t pick this spot to be quieter, they picked this spot because of the incredible grape growing that occurs in the Santa Rita Hills.
Santa Rita Hills is considered one of the best wine regions in the world. This region is certified AVA, which stands for American Viticultural Area and produces the wonderful Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs that Sanford is known for.
When Sanford Winery first discovered magical grape growing in these hills, they built a small tasting room. Recently, they built a new tasting room, down the road. It’s a beautiful two-story adobe building. Their wonderful vineyards surrounds his gorgeous structure.
This new wine tasting home of Sanford Winery is perfectly equipped for wine tasting, vineyard tours, wine retail sales, special events and so much more.. They also have a wonderful wine club, which offers free tasting to members and their friends. We are members & bought a case during our visit! We bought a variety of their ver best wines.
Sanford Winery is located in one of my favorite spots in Central California. This is my happy place. So beautiful is this winery. So delicious is the wine. So lovely for a picnic. So serene and tranquil. It’s the perfect place to end our Santa Barbara Wine Country Road Trip. Located at 5010 Santa Rosa Rd, Lompoc 93436
