LA Marathon celebrated it’s 30 year anniversary by lining the route with columns of lights. It was quite the spectacle, from Dodger Stadium all the way to Santa Monica on Friday night.
Everyone was out Friday night, enjoying the Los Angeles Indian summer. If you were up in the Hollywood Hills, you were lucky to see the LA marathon lights from almost everywhere!
Such an interesting night, with temperatures of 75 degrees at 9 o’clock at night and strange looking lightsabers in the Los Angeles sky. Marathon organizers, along with ASICS, sponsor of the Marathon, couldn’t have asked for a better night!
Thank you ASICS, for putting on a great show. Los Angeles was so pretty this night. Such a creative and entertaining way to celebrate 30 Years of LA marathon running!! Good luck to all of the runners on Sunday!
The heat was still expected to continue on Sunday. So, Marathon organizers pushed up the start time by 30 minutes. Over 26,000 runners participated from all around the world. While the warm weather did affect some, most runners finished without any issues.
It was a successful 3oth LA Marathon. Come on out next year and participate in LA Marathon’s 31st race. Congratulations to all of the runners! Thank you for supporting Los Angeles!
