Lucky to be a California Girl

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of California Association of REALTORS® for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Born and raised by Indo-European immigrants, my parents came to California to live The American Dream. Because of them, I was able to live close to a beautiful park, bike ride right outside of my house, walk to school in the winter and be on a swim team all year round. I’m lucky they chose California to raise their family.
Today, I live in the Hollywood Hills with my husband, daughter and our dog. We purchased our hillside home in a lovely area called Laurel Canyon, in the year 2000. It was by far the best investment of our lives. Our house has tripled in value, since then.
Our neighborhood is neslted in the hills, away from the hustle and bustle. We’re able to step outside of our house and go for long hikes. We often catch the beautiful sunset, overlooking the city, from the top of the hill. We sometimes even run into deer.
Even though it feels like we live far away from the city, we’re only 10 minutes away from the famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood and a half hour away from downtown Los Angeles.
We’re fortunate that good schools are close for my daughter and that she can play soccer everyday of the year. We’re fortunate that my husband doesn’t have to take the highway to get to work.
On the weekends, we’re often tourists in our own town. Whether we’re bike riding at Manhattan beach, hiking in nearby Griffith park or horseback riding in the Santa Monica Mountains, we’re always taking advantage of what California has to offer.
Yes, I’m lucky my parents bought a house in California. It allowed me the opportunity to be a California homeowner, as well. You can be that lucky someone, too. You just have to make a move. California Association of REALTORS ® Champions of Home can help you make that move.
Thanks for letting me share a little bit about my life in California. I’m lucky!
